The results and concern over a CT scan started my journey with Dr. Kamesha Harbison. God placed her in my path because He knew that I needed a strong, but compassionate, loving, caring, and Godly doctor to convince me to have a hysteroscopy. Dr. Harbison, was a traveling gynecologist who was working at the hospital where I was admitted for a blood transfusion due to dangerously low hemoglobin and iron levels. While in the hospital for the third time in six months the”doctor on call” ordered a CT scan to see what was causing my heavy vaginal bleeding. After getting the results, he had Dr. Harbison reach out to me. She was kind enough to come to my hospital room late that evening to discuss the results with my sister and me. She informed us that I needed to have a hysteroscopy to examine the inside of the womb and that a biopsy was needed to see if there were any cancer cells present. Dr. Harbison explained things thoroughly and spent a long time getting acquainted with us and praying with us.
Because of Dr. Harbison, I learned early about my cancer and was able to start treatment before it progressed too far. Unfortunately, my youngest sister wasn’t as fortunate. She was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer about the same time that I was diagnosed with stage 1 cancer. Sadly, she passed away approximately a month after her diagnosis.
Dr. Harbison is a jewel with a mission and purpose to provide the best care possible. I am forever
grateful for her taking me on as a patient. She listens, answers questions, and makes sure you are aware of her expectations for both you as a patient and her as a provider. Dr. Harbison made my birthing experience easy, not once but twice. She fully supported my wishes for a natural medication-free birth and included my husband throughout the process. Having access to a doctor who cares made all the difference. I felt safe, heard, and empowered as a patient of Dr. Harbisons. I would recommend her to anyone, especially black women!
I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Harbison. Expecting my first child I had many fears and concerns, she was great about explaining everything, allowing me to relax and enjoy my pregnancy. She was very supportive of and followed my desired birthing plan. Dr. Harbison is definitely the best!
What started as an accidental meet, turned into one of the most beautiful things to happen in my life. Although our meet was accidental it was also fated. Dr Harbison started as my OB but has been one of the most impactful experiences i have had in my life. From the connection, to the bond, or even keeping me in line and on the right track she’s always been more than just my OB. She’s my inspiration, prayer warrior, and most importantly one of the main hands in my blessing of conceiving and successfully delivering my daughter after battling with infertility and other feminine issues. I am forever grateful and blessed to have meet the beautiful woman that she is.
Dr. Harbison is amazing! She is efficient, caring, calming, and determined to give you the best care possible. My experience with her has been nothing short of a blessing! She is transparent and explains things in a way that is easy to understand. During a visit, I know that all of my questions will be answered and the plan for my care will be strategic whether the issue be big or small. My experience When I went to Valley Had low expectations. But when I went to doctor Harbison Was one of the best Ob doctors I was amazed soon. As soon as I got to talk to her, she listened to me understood what I needed during time for delivery. She made sure everything was going smoothly. Didn’t rush me help me with through every contraction. When it came time for my 6 week, check up. She didn’t push any meds on me. Gave me time to think about what I wanted to do.
Dr. Harbison is AMAZING!! I’ve known her for 8 years and she delivered all 5 of my kids. She’s kind and considerate and will listen to what you have to say. She lets you know all of your options up front and after just the first visit I felt like I had known her for years. And even though I am done having kids I plan to continue to go back to her for all of my female exams, I trust her over my regular doctor.
Dr. Kamesha Harbison is simply the best OB/GYN that I have ever had. Her level of care and experience is truly like none other, I am a mother of now 16 children and she cared for me during our 15th and 16th pregnancy and I learned so much from becoming her patient about my health and pregnancy that I have never been told before. Her level of understanding and making you feel secure during and after delivery from after care from your yearly exams and her love for the community is simply amazing and I couldn’t have prayed for a better doctor.
